Taping

Taping is the critical first step in finishing drywall joints, and when it's done well, it makes everything that follows look better. BZ Renovation provides professional drywall taping that creates seamless, smooth walls ready for mudding and painting.

Our Taping Techniques

We handle flat joints, inside corners, outside corners, and butt joints with consistent technique.

Paper & Mesh Tape Application

We apply paper or mesh tape to drywall joints using the appropriate adhesive or embedding technique. Paper tape is our choice for inside corners and flat joints for its strength and crack resistance; mesh with setting compound excels on patches and repairs where speed and hardness matter.

Corners & Butt Joints

Inside corners need clean creases and perfect embedding; outside corners need straight, well-set corner bead. Butt joints — the hardest joint in drywall — are feathered wide so they disappear under paint. These details are what separate professional taping from a callback later.

Why Quality Taping Matters

Poor taping leads to visible seams, bubbling, and cracking over time.

Preventing Cracks & Bubbles

Every joint must be fully embedded with no dry spots or air bubbles under the tape. Bubbles and loose tape telegraph through paint within months. Our taping work is done carefully to ensure every joint is properly bedded — attention to detail at this stage prevents problems down the road.

The Foundation of the Finish

Paint doesn't hide drywall flaws — it highlights them. Because taping is the foundation for mudding, sanding, and painting, doing it right the first time protects the entire look of your finished room. That's why we treat taping as a craft, not a step.

Frequently Asked Questions About Taping

Straight answers from the BZ Renovation team. Don't see your question? Call us at +1 (647) 920-2463.

Paper tape is stronger and best for inside corners and flat seams in new construction. Mesh tape with setting-type compound is convenient for repairs and butt joints. The right answer depends on the joint type and conditions — we choose per application, not one-size-fits-all.
